Boat and Trailer Storage in Residential Zones
The Town's Zoning By-law 57-99 restricts the storage of recreational vehicles in residential zones. Recreational vehicles are permitted to be parked and /or stored in a driveway of a residential property for more than seven (7) consecutive days from May 1 to September 30, after which time the vehicle must be stored in the rear yard or within a garage or other approved structure.
Building Permits
Every owner of property in the town of Aylmer who wishes to carry out any type of renovation, addition or new construction must contact the municipal office and speak to the Chief Building Official in the Planning and Municipal Services Department, to determine if a permit will be required for the works proposed. If it is determined that a permit is required, all of the necessary application forms will be provided by the town or individuals may utilize the Ministry forms found at http://www.obc.mah.gov.on.ca/Asset50.aspx
Please note: The provincial form “Application for a Permit to Construct or Demolish” has been amended to reflect amendments to the Building Code Act, 1992 made under the Good Government Act, 2009, and related changes to the Building Code. These amendments clarify the criteria for a “complete” building permit application, which is an application that is subject to full review within the timeframes set out in the Building Code. The new provincial form must be used for applications submitted on or after January 1, 2011.
