The Town of Aylmer is strategically located in Southwestern Ontario, Canada on Highway #3 at the mid point between Buffalo, New York and Detroit, Michigan. Each of these major border crossings are within a 2 hour drive. Aylmer, services a primary market of over 20,000 from the East Elgin County area. However, an urban market of over 500,000 is within less than a 30 minute drive. Aylmer is a vibrant community with a population of approximately 7,100. Community spirit and community pride are hallmarks of our home town.
Infrastructure & Hometown Service
Aylmer is very proud of the quality of its infrastructure and its capacity to deliver almost unlimited resources for its business customers. Our location on Highway #3 as well as our close proximity to Highway 401 provides Aylmer with convenient access to major transportation corridors. Water is received from Lake Erie, sewage is treated at municipal facilities, telephone service, including fiber optics, is provided by a local phone company, natural gas is provided by a local supplier and our electricity is provided by a local distribution company, Erie Thames Powerlines.
